Terms of Use

These terms are between you and FLTR Search Limited (we, us), which runs Lokali, and cover your use of the Lokali app. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What the app is

Lokali helps people find and join informal, in-person plans such as drinks, food, exhibitions and runs. We provide the platform only. We do not organise, run, supervise or attend plans, and we cannot check who people are or whether what they say about themselves is true. The app is free to use at the moment.

2. Who can use it

• You must be 18 or over.
• You may have one account, signed in with your own phone number.
• Give accurate information. Your profile photo should be a clear photo of you.
• Keep your account secure. You are responsible for what happens under it.

3. Meeting people safely

Meeting people you don't know carries risk, and you are responsible for your own safety and decisions. Sensible precautions include:

• meeting in public places
• telling someone you trust where you are going and who with
• arranging your own travel
• leaving if anything feels wrong
• never sharing financial information
• reporting any concerns in the app

We do not check anyone's identity or background, and a rating or profile is not a guarantee of anything. In an emergency, call 999.

4. Our rules

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not post or do anything that:

• harasses, threatens, bullies, or abuses anyone, or is hateful towards people because of their race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, age or any similar characteristic
• is sexually explicit or makes unwanted sexual advances
• promotes violence, self-harm, illegal drugs or any other illegal activity
• involves anyone under 18
• is false or misleading, or pretends to be another person
• is spam, advertising, or promotes a business, product or service without our permission
• shares someone else's private information or photos without their consent
• infringes anyone else's rights
• hacks, disrupts, scrapes or misuses the app, or creates fake accounts

Plans must be lawful and described accurately.

5. Your content

You own what you post, including your profile, plans and messages. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display it so we can run the app, show it to other users as described in the Privacy Policy, and enforce these terms. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to post it.

6. Reporting, blocking and enforcement

• You can report people, plans and messages in the app, and block anyone from their profile.
• We review reports and aim to act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, by removing the content and, where appropriate, removing the person who posted it.
• We may remove content, cancel plans, or suspend or permanently remove accounts, without notice, if we think you have broken these terms or put others at risk. Where we think it is necessary, we may share information with the police.

7. Plans, hosts and attendees

• Hosts: describe your plan accurately, choose a lawful and safe place, cancel in the app if you can't go ahead, and mark attendance honestly.
• Attendees: only join if you plan to come, leave if your plans change, and respect the host, other people and the venue.
• Ratings and attendance records are shown on profiles. Be honest and fair. We may remove ratings that are used to abuse or retaliate.
• Plans, venues and what happens at them are not ours. We are not a party to any arrangement between users.

8. Notifications and location

Notifications and location features are optional and need your permission. You can change this in the app settings or your phone settings. How we use your location is explained in the Privacy Policy.

9. Third-party services

The app uses Google for place search and maps. By using these features you also agree to the Google Maps terms and the Google Privacy Policy.

10. Our responsibility

• The app is provided as it is and as available. We try to keep it running but cannot promise it will always work or be free of errors.
• To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for what other users say or do, or for plans, venues or anything that happens when you meet people.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for fraud.
• Subject to that, we are not liable for losses we could not reasonably have predicted when you signed up, or for business losses.

11. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time in Profile, then Delete account. Your information is then handled as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access as described in section 6.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will ask you to accept the new version in the app before you carry on using it.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in the courts there.

14. Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or for supporting it. Apple's standard licence terms for apps from the App Store also apply to your use of the app.
